Edible Garden Consulting and Design for Colorado | Laura Ruby

Xander smells sageI started my training as a toddler, gripping the earth as I crawled around the new horizons. Throughout my life, I had the fortune of having parents that appreciated a child covered in dirt. And we were always planting something- vegetables, perennials, herbs, you name it. Over the years I continued exploring my natural world, graduating from the University of Colorado with an Environmental Science degree.  During my undergraduate I traveled to Australia and earned a certificate in Permaculture Design.

Since then I have worked with Wee Bee Farms, a fantastic garlic farm in Longmont, CO, an organic produce company, and Boulder County Going Local (now Transition Boulder County).  While earning a Masters of Sustainable Business Administration from Green Mountain College in Vermont, I started working as the garden coordinator for the Garden to Table program, installing and working with 14 elementary school gardens in Boulder Valley School District. With permaculture as my passion, I also co-facilitate and teach a Permaculture Design Certification course at The Farmette in Lyons, CO.

YummyYards is an extension of my passion to teach people about how to grow their own food, beautifully.
